How to uninstall and reinstall the discovery+ app
If you're having issues with the discovery+ app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app from your device can sometimes help resolve the issue and ensure that you have the latest version of the discovery+ app installed.
Follow our step-by-step guide to uninstall and reinstall discovery+ on our supported devices.
Android Mobile
1. Go to the Play Store
2. Select the Profile icon on the top right-hand corner
3. Select 'Manage apps and device'
4. Go to Manage tab
5. Find the discovery+ app and select 'Uninstall'
6. Once the app has uninstalled select the 'Install' button to reinstall the app
Android TV
1. Go onto your home screen
2. Go to Settings
2. Go to Device > Apps > Downloaded apps
3. Find the discovery+ up and select 'Uninstall'
4. To reinstall, find the Google Play Store app in Apps
5. Search for discovery+
6. Download to reinstall
Amazon Fire TV
1. Go onto your home screen
2. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications
2. Find the discovery+ app and then select 'Uninstall'
3. To reinstall, find discovery+ on the home screen
4. Select 'Get' to reinstall
Apple TV
1. On your. home screen, find the discovery+ app
2. Press and hold the clickpad/touchpad on your remote until the app starts to wobble
3. Press on the Play/Pause button and then select 'Delete'
4. Go back to the App Store
5. Find then discovery+ app then press 'Get' to download
Chromecast
Depending on the device you're casting from, please follow the instructions for ‘Android Mobile’ above, or ‘iOS - iPhone/iPad’ below.
iOS - iPhone/iPad
1. To uninstall, find the discovery+ app on your homepage
2. Hold down on the app icon until the app icon starts shaking
3. Select 'x' on the top right-hand corner of the discovery+ app
4. To re-install, go the App Store
7. Find discovery+ and download using the 'cloud' icon
LG TV
1. Press the Home button on your remote and go to the LG Content Store
2. Go to Apps and select 'My Apps'
3. On the top right-hand corner, select the 'Delete' (bin) icon
4. Select discovery+ from your apps
5. Go back to the top right-hand corner and select 'Delete'
6. To re-download, find discovery+ in your apps and press 'Install'
Roku
1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote
2. Select 'Streaming Channels' so you're on the Channel Store
3. Find the discovery+ app then press 'OK' on your remote
4. Then select 'Remove channel'
5. To reinstall, find discovery+ in the Channel Store
6. Select 'Add Channel'*
*if you have a PIN set up for Roku, you will be required to enter it after selecting 'Add Channel'.
Samsung TV (2017 and above)
1. Press the Home button on your remote then select 'Apps'
2. Go to Settings in the top right-hand corner
3. Find the discovery+ app and then select 'Delete'
4. To re-install, find discovery+ in Apps and select 'Install'
Samsung TV (2020 and above)
1. Press the Home button and select 'Settings'
2. Go to Support > Device care > Manage Storage
3. Find discovery+ and press 'Delete'
4. To re-install, find discovery+ in Apps and select 'Install'
Sky Q or Sky Glass
Sky apps are updated automatically, so you should always be on the latest version of discovery+.
