What is Picture in Picture?
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) is a video player feature which allows you to watch videos in a floating window (always on top of other windows) so you can keep an eye on what you are watching while interacting with other apps. It's a great way for you to multitask while watching our content.

On which platforms are PIP supported?
Picture-In-Picture is currently only supported on iPhones and iPads.
We're looking to add this feature to Android phones and tablets soon.

How do I enable PIP view?
You can activate PIP when you background discovery+ via gesture controls within the platforms and navigate to other apps. You can open and browse whilst playback is still active on the discovery+ app. If you open a media-based app whilst still in PIP then the content will pause as the new app is opened, at this point, you have the option to unpause the d+ app and continue their stream or select a stream from the other media app.

How can I dismiss PIP and return to fullscreen?
You can engage the player window and select a full-screen button to return to the size typically located at the top right corner of the screen.

Can I open multiple PIP windows?
This is not supported within PIP on either device/platforms just yet. At present only the background app and a second can be open and present at the same time.

What can I do when PIP is enabled?
You can access any applications on your phone and tablet, such as accessing email, games, and messages.

If I turn off my phone or tablet will PIP still be present on the screen?
OS logic defines the behaviour of the feature. If you turn off the phone then PIP will also be terminated.

Can I change the location of the video thumbnail once in PIP mode?
Yes, you can move the video thumbnail anywhere around the screen as well as expand in portrait or landscape via scaling.
