How can I enable Chromecast?
Chromecast via Android
Make sure your Chromecast and Android device (phone or tablet) are connected to the same wireless network.
- Open the discovery+ app on your Android device and look for the Chromecast icon in the upper right corner.
- Click on the Chromecast icon. Now you'll see a list of Chromecast devices found. Click on your Chromecast device.
- When the Chromecast icon is blue, you are ready to see your selected program.
Want to stop watching the program on your TV? Pause your Android screen and then press the cross in the upper right corner.
Chromecast via iOS
Start by making sure your Chromecast and iOS device (iPhone or iPad) are connected to the same wireless network.
- Open the discovery+ app on your iOS device and look for the Chromecast icon in the upper-right corner.
- Click the Chromecast icon. Now you'll see a list of Chromecast devices found. Click on your Chromecast device.
- When the Chromecast icon is white, you're ready to see your selected program.
- Do you want to stop watching the program on your TV? Touch the Chromecast icon on your iOS device and select ”Disconnect".
Chromecast via Computer
To use Chromecast on your computer, make sure your Chromecast and computer (PC or Mac) are connected to the same wireless network and that you've downloaded the Google Chrome browser (www.chrome.com)
To Chromecast, do the following:
- Open http://www.discoveryplus.co.uk in Google Chrome on your Computer (PC, Mac) and select the program you want to watch.
- Click the Chromecast icon in the playback bar in the right corner of your computer screen.
- Don't see the Chromecast icon? Then click on the three dots in the upper right corner, and then click "Cast". Now you'll see a list of Chromecast devices found. Click on your Chromecast device.
- Touch the Chromecast icon in the upper right corner.
- When the Chromecast icon is blue, you're ready to see your selected program.
- Do you want to pause / stop the program on your TV? Touch the Chromecast icon on your computer and the playback menu will appear.
Why can't I Chromecast on the discovery+ app?
discovery+ and your Chromecast device may not be communicating effectively. We recommend the following steps to try to solve the problem:
- Check your mobile/tablet and your Chromecast device are connected to the same network.
- Check the connection to the network and that your Internet service provider is working properly.
- Close the discovery+ app.
- Unplug the power source from your Chromecast device, wait two minutes and then plug the power source back in.
- Then wait a few moments for your Chromecast device to reboot and turn back on. Re-open the discovery+ app
- Try and cast your favourite show on your TV
